Shirley Chisholm - 1st Black Woman for President

First African American candidate for President of the United States. She won 162 delegates. Born in Brooklyn, New York, of a Barbadian mother and a Guyanese father, she was a Congresswoman, representing New York's 12th District for seven terms from 1968 to 1983.
